Outlook attachment problem

?I have Outlook 2007 and every time I attach a file such as an Excel or Word
file, it not only attaches the file but also opens up Excel or Word before I
can continue. This is exceedingly annoying and wondered if anyone else had
this problem and knew how to solve it?
