I am trying to use the outlook backup utility for Outlook 2003 on a WinXP
machine. I know that I downloaded the program when I first worked on this
machine, but I don't think I ran the install at that time (I wanted to get it
on the network, so I had a place to save the pst file). Now, I am trying to
run the install (I downloaded the exe today) and I get the message saying
that another/previous version exists and it must be uninstalled before the
new version can be installed. I click yes to uninstall the previous version
and I get another error saying the product is not installed on the machine
and use the add/remove programs to uninstall. The Backup utility is not
listed in the add/remove programs list and I can only find the exe file that
I downloaded today. I have searched the c drive for "backup", "personal" and
cannot find anything that remotely looks like it would be the backup utility
program (so I could do a manual uninstall). I would like to a) remove the
previous install and then re-install or b) use the current installed version.
When I go to Outlook and look under File, there is no Backup option listed.
I have also tried to reply to NO to uninstall the previous version, but that
gets me nowhere too.
