Outlook backup

Henk

I'd like to backup my e-mails to use on another computer.
Anybody can help me?
How I have to do it?

Thank you

Yes You can backup data in Microsoft Outlook and as well as outlook express. In MS Outlook Choose Import / export under file menu to export to a PST file and save it anywhere you like. And in outlook express. Goto tools in the menu bar and goto option and click maintainance. Check the folder path. Copy and paste this in the Explorer window's address bar. Now you can copy these files.

NOOOOO!!! Do NOT export your file unless you want to lose data.

COPY the .pst file to the new computer and select File->Open in Outlook.

That's a bit hard - Ashraf Pasha isn't wrong in fact this is the way
specified by Microsoft its just with long experience (heartache and
grief)copying works better

No, Pasha is not wrong, MICROSOFT is in the doghouse for this one for not
documenting the fact that export/import is for getting OTHER file/mail
information into Outlook.

The continuing fact that they poorly document the purpose of the
import/export tool is a shame since we (Outlook MVPs) have known of this
problem and have made them aware of the lack of documentation to avoid the
loss of date/connections/custom forms, etc for a long time.

Hopefully, they will document the problem in a KB article or at least make
the dialogs a bit clearer in the Import/Export option more granular. Until
then, use the Open option. Why would you need to "import" a native file
format? In every other Office application, you open items, so why not in
Outlook?
