Outlook BCM dialer should link to phone log

T

Todd

Recently started using BCM. Historically I've used Outlook Journal entries
w/contacts as a basic contact manager. I was hopeful that BCM would increase
my functionality (e.g. activity reports) but I'm dissappointed that none of
my journal entries from the past can be converted to BCM history. Unless
I've missed something, I couldn't find a way to do that.

I'm also disappointed that the Outlook phone dialer function does not seem
to work well with the phone log. It would seem logical that I could use the
dialer to create a phone log automatically linked to the business contact,
just like I can do with a regular contact and journal entry. With high
volume of calls, the dialer saves me a lot of time vs. pushing buttons and
automatically populating/linking to the contact.

At this point, I think I'm going back to regular contacts/journal entries to
manage things until MS can make some improvements to BCM. I'd love to get
the reporting functionality, but not at the expense of easy access to these
to key things.

Todd,

I would recommend that you explore an alternative to BCM by clicking on the
following link:

www.mxcontact.com

Using this solution will allow you to continue to access the phone dialer
feature and journal your notes with each contact record WITHOUT having to
compromise or live with the BCM limitation of this functionality being
omitted.
