Outlook BCM error message

I have Outlook 2003 with BCM and have recently upgraded to Quickbooks Pro 2008.
Ever since that upgrade Outlook has given me a error message saying BCM has
encountered a error and must close. Only option is to close. This happens
whether or not QB is open. But it only started when I upgraded. I have all
contacts in Personal folders - not in BCM. Can I just delete BCM thru
Add/Delete Programs? I would like to backup Contacts but can't find out how
to do that. HELP!! I am so frustrated!

I know that a few years ago installing a version of QB stomped on the
Registry, broke the entries for a COM object that BCM used. Perhaps
they're doing that again in QB 2008.

When you uninstall BCM, the BCM databases are left behind on the
machine. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling BCM.

I don't use BCM(I don't think!!) - all my contacts are located under the
"personal contact" category - I just don't want to take a chance of losing
them. Can I back them up before deleting BCM? If so, I don't know how . .
. ! Will Outlook 2003 work without BCM because if yes, then I will delete
and leave it deleted.

Uninstalling BCM will/should not affect the data in Outlook's folders.
