Outlook becomes unresponsive when opening emails

Hi,

We have a user running XP SP3, Outloko 2003 SP3 and all updates installed.
After 10 mins or so his outlook becomes unresponsive, slowing at first then
just sitting with egg timer and Not Responding in the program bar.

No add-ons, tried cached / uncached exchange mode. User on another PC is
fine.

Any quick fix or should I uninstall / reinstall?

Check to see if any of the following are turned on in your Outlook settings:

1.. Turn off "instant messaging" Q290025 (See quick instructions below)
2.. Uncheck all planner options per article Q324374 (See quick Info below)
3.. Turn off SPEECH RECOGNITION

1) OL2002: Delay Occurs When You Open a Message in Outlook 2002 with Instant
Messaging Enabled

Remove the link between Outlook 2002 and MSN Messenger, perform the
following steps:

1. Start Outlook.
2. From the Tools menu, select Options.
3. Select the Other tab.
4. Clear the "Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook" check box in
the Instant Messaging section, then click OK.
5. Close and restart Outlook for the change to take effect.
