Outlook blocking access to email attachments

Outlook is blocking access to "potentially unsafe
attachements"____.exe. Even though I have a up-to-date
version of Norton anti-virus, Outlook is preventing me
from receiving an .exe file that I know is safe. Is
there anyway to turn that function off? I have already
set my email security level to low, but the file I am
trying to access is still being blocked.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

If you're using Outlook 98/2000 with the security update
applied, this is expected. check out this microsoft site

To preven a virus from getting through, the security
update blocks all .exe files. Ask the sender to rename
the file ._ex attach it and resend it and you should
receive it.

rename it BEFORE you try to attach it

Hello Dean,
Unfortunately, she is unable to rename the file to
a ._exe file. Each time she attempts to attach the file
to the email she is trying to send, the email
automatically attaches it as an .exe file, and she cannot
rename the file once it is attached to the email. Any
suggestions?
