outlook cached memory is gone, and I need a recent email address

Why did the most recenty used emails disappear from my systems memory. Even
if the names aren't in my personal contacts list in Outlook, I can still type
the first few letters of the name, and the email address will appear. All of
a sudden, they are all gone. How do I get them back, and ensure that this
does not happen again?

I presume you're using OL2003 and are referring to the autocomplete feature?
(note that autocomplete has nothing to do with your contacts/address book.)

What happened between "it works" and "it doesn't work" ? The cache is stored
in a nk2 file...

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292882 and

Hi Bernadette

If you close Outlook and you are not a local admin on your machine the NK2
file is not saved and I don't understand WHY?????

Maybe an MVP could answer this
