Outlook Calendar Archives

It is possible to archive a calendar? I have a user that
wants to archive the last years calendar so that he will
not loose any of the information it it. Could not find
anything on the web specific to this subject without it
referring to normal pst files.

Outlook Archive uses PST files...but you can certainly use it for the
calendar. .Remember, it will archive based on the date the item was last
modified.

Personally, I don't like PST files much - are you using Exchange? If so,
keep mailbox quotas reasonable - calendar items rarely take up much space.
Sent items & attachments are the more common culprits.

we are using exchange, but not sure how to archive the
calender unless I create a pst file and make sure that it
creates it with the calendar in there as well. Can you
advise?

That's the only way to do autoarchive natively - otherwise you can use third
party software that doesn't use PST files.

As I said, I don't recommend autoarchive. Esp. for small items like
calendar, best to keep it in the mailbox store as it takes up little space.
If you're using mailbox quotas, which are a good idea, the best idea to keep
the mailbox small is to take advantage of public folders, delete sent items
regularly, and delete attachments from emails (put them in the file system).
See http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq_appxf.htm for a nice rant on PST
files.
