Outlook calendar Merging

Display the calendar from which you want to move data in a table format
(categories works well for this). Select All, then right click and drag to
the calendar folder where you want the information merged. Release and
select Move.

How do I avoid any duplications that arise by doing this? I'd like still to
"select all" and not to have to only select any new appointments as this will
become too cumbersome. Outlook seemingly does not ask whether existing
appointments should be replicated or not. (e.g. if once a week I simply copy
calendars of others into an overall department calendar, then appointments
that were copied by an earlier merging process get copied again.)
