Outlook calendar: reminders in background

J

Jim R

With the MS Works calendar, the reminders kept running in the background even
after exiting from Works. Can I do the same thing with the Outlook calendar?

Thanks,
Jim

No. But you can use a notifier program that will open a stub of Outlook in
order to get reminders - please note, they can keep Outlook from closing
completely and cause problems at shutdown.

Maybe I'm dense, but all I see are apps to send reminders to email,
cellphones, pagers, and a lot of things I don't understand. Can you point to
something more specific?

Also, I forgot to say I have Office 2003, Win XP Pro.

I guess that makes sense. The old version of Calendar works well, I buy the
latest version, and I have to search for, download, buy and install ANOTHER
product in order to have it do the most important function.

Outlook is not Works nor an upgrade from the Works calendar. It is a part
of Office System.

Try Magic Mail Monitor - it is free and works quite well.
