Outlook can't find Exch

Hello,

I'm using Outlook 2000 & 2002 w/Exch 5.5SP4 for my
clients. On occasion Outlook will give a message that it
can't find the server and shows a timeout bar. It then
finds the server and performs the task requested.

Anyone heard of this? Why does it happen - is there a fix?

Is the Exchange Server local to the users, i.e. in the
same building? Or is it accessed over a WAN link to
another building? If it's not local you could increase the
bandwidth available or try increasing the timeout setting
in the Properties of the Exchange Server in services. By
default it's set to 30 seconds. What are their mailbox
sizes like?

Other than that, what's the load on the server like? I had
no problems with Exchange 5.5 SP4 on an old Pentium 150MHz
64MB RAM PC and about 25 users, running in the same
building on a 100MB full duplex network.
