Outlook can't find server and throws out

I ran into strange problem and I wonder if someone could help me? The
computer in question is not mine, so I can't remember exactly wat the error
was, but it goes something like this:

Outlook 2003 hasn't been used since 2004 and it has unknown server settings.
But when I tried to get it back to use it complains that it can't find
server. This is quite understadable, but if I click "Ok" it closes Outlook
and if I click "cancel" it does the same!

I couldn't figure out a way to get those setting reset to "factory defaults"
outside Outlook. Is installing whole Office the only option?

You can use the mail applet in the control panel to delete/create mail
profiles. (When you start the mail applet, click the "show profiles"
button.)
