Outlook Changing Date Stamps

I recieved some emails in my Inbox a few weeks ago and today I decieved to
move my email to a public folder but when I did Outlook changed the Recived
date to today date but when I open the email it still have the original time
staff? Any ideas what could have cause and how to fix so that the email that
I moved to the public folder have the right date stamp?

After furious head scratching, Wesley asked:

I right clicked the email and chose the option "Move Item To" then chose the
public folder
