Outlook closes but application continues to run

We are running Outlook 2003 on Exchange 2k3, SBS2k3 server. I have one user
who is having an issue with Outlook. He can open first time, no problem. If
he closes it the icon stays in the notification area and he can't open
Outlook again.

I've checked the KB article regarding add-ins, however, there are no third
party add-ins and when I disabled all of the default add-ins the problem
still exists. We can open it once but when it's closed we cannot open it
again. Only by rebooting the computer or closing it using Task Manager.

I've run AV checks and Spyware checks and his machine is clean. Nothing
unusual. There's nothing odd in the logs on the Exchange server either.

I have not reloaded Outlook as of yet. I was hoping to avoid that but will
do it if necessary.

Any ideas of what else I can do?

Thanks

Also look for synchronisation and fax software. If the virus scanner or 3rd
party junk mail filter integrates with Outlook disable this integration as
well.

Thanks Robert. There was some fax software that looked like it was
interferring and I deleted it. So far, it appears to be working correctly
