Outlook configuration 'Options' are confusing/labyrinthine

There are too many hierarchical levels in options. Tools -> Options has
Preferences tab. In that there is 'Email Options'. When you click on it,
there is 'Advanced Email Options'. Then nested below this is 'Destop Alert
Settings'. Without going through some elaborate training and trying to
remember what exists where, it is pretty hard to find anything.

IMO, more than 1 level of hierarchy just makes life hard. In fact, the IE
options/preferences are much better.

Why not have 1 hierarchy and a searchable interface for the million options
you have? For instance, Firefox's 'about:config' button. You just type in a
keyword and the configs are filtered for you.
