Outlook connector not syncing all appointments and no tasks

I have Win 7 with Outlook 2007. I also have Windows Live on the internet and
on Win Mobile.

My account in Outlook using Outlook Connector is for a Windows Live account
with email, contacts, calendar and tasks. I know calendar won't sync to my
phone (darn) but it does (kind of) sync to my internet Windows Live calendar.
My email and contacts sync fine but although most of my calendar
appointments sync, many are missing from the internet and none of my tasks
sync.

Any ideas how to get it to work reliably? As it is, calendar or tasks
aren't much use. Actually, without sync to my phone and the inability to
sync by categories make it pretty limited anyway but I would like it to work
as advertised if there's a way.
