Outlook connector problem

G

Geronimo

After an update to Live One Care, my Outlook would not connect to my Hot Mail
account. I got a message to try repairing Outlook Connect using the
Add/Remove software feature. I did this, which did not fix the problem. I
then found that my firewall settings had changed, so I fixed that, but now I
cannot receive mail; I can send mail; and I lost my calendar settings. How do
I get back to my original setup?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

I forgot to mention I am using Outlook 7, and Outlook Connector
v12.0.4518.1068.

Try downloading and installing the 12.1 beta version of the Connector.

Downloading Hotmail/Windows Live Mail in my 2007 Outlook quit working for me
after I installed the "Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB952142)"
on July 18, 2008.

Removing, then re-adding that email account didn't work after numerous
attempts.

Finally, I installed this Beta - it worked for me. It was SO sweet to see
those emails re-appear!

That did the trick! My email immediately worked, however, the old calendar is
still lost, but that was all water over the dam anyway.

Thanks

This update also hosed my outlook in a similar fashion. My solution was quite
a bit different, but perhaps it could be of help to others...

My system had come pre-installed with Norton Internet Security Suite, which
I removed shortly after buying the system. Apparently, Norton's uninstaller
doesn't actually uninstall everything. I ran a program available on the web
called EnumProcess that showed several possible firewalls were running (to my
great surprise, since I supposedly had removed them). This is how I knew that
Norton had left stuff lying around, in particular, SYMTDI. From other online
posts, I found a Symantec provided "Norton Removal Tool" which required me to
first uninstall my Symantec Antivirus. After running this tool and rebooting,
the following programs which had stopped working, were fixed: firefox 3.0.1,
gallery remote, pix 2 gallery 2, and outlook (specifically, the connector)!
From what I gather, norton left a firewall running EVEN AFTER REMOVAL that
when these programs were updated, blocked them from accessing the internet.
New programs were also blocked!

If there is even a remote chance that were system ever did or currently does
have norton software on it and you are experience these problems, run the
removal tool and re-install your norton products, if necessary.

downloaded Outlook connector 12.1 trying to install this I get a warning
message that I need to install Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 and then the
application closes.

I am using outlook 2007 for my other accounts but cannot now install and use
