I am using Outlook Connector 12.1 to read my Hotmail with Outlook 2003 on
Windows XP. I periodically encounter a problem where the synchronization
between my Hotmail folders and my Outlook folders stops working. The only
solution I have found when this occurs is to uninstall Outlook Connector,
delete my Hotmail account in Outlook, and start all over again: i.e.
re-install Connector, add my Hotmail account, and wait until the initial
synchronization completes. Since I have a large Hotmail set of folders
(about 1.9 GB total) this takes a long time to syncyhronize.
Also, I find that sometimes the local Hotmail mailfile created by Outlook
Connector in Outlook is an OST file, and sometimes it is a pre-Outlook 2003
PST file, which can't support support such large file sizes, so it again
stops working when the file gets large enough.
Does anyone know why Connector sometimes creates an OST file and sometimes a
PST file? And is there a way to force it to a Outlook 2003 PST format file?
Do you have any suggestions to resolve my periodic synchronization problems?
Thanks for any help.
