outlook connector uninstalled outlook 2003 failing

I installed Outlook Connector then uninstalled it. Outlook 2003 is now
failing at "New" messages and won't save a Contact. The Send/Receive function
does nothing. I uninstalled and re-installed Outlook. Same "Messing Interface
has returned an unknown error. If problem persists restart Outlook."
Renamed map32.dll and msmap32.dll and ran repair from the Control Panel.
No change.
I can not access Email Options in Outlook or Control Panel.
Interestingly, I was able to configure and am using Outlook Express with no
issues.
