Has anyone successfully completed the most recent Outlook Connector Update
(last week)? Since I first tried to install it, I have not been able to
download or send mail or download or upload calendar entries between Outlook
and MSN. I do use Windows Live and I think it is still Beta. I've never had
a problem with a Outlook Connector Update before. Following is the scenario
now.
Last week I started getting a pop-up that I needed to install the latest
version of Outlook Connector in order to continue downloading my MSN mail,
etc. I clicked "Update". It downloads several KBs or Mbs of data (I can't
remember how much) then a message comes up that it will need to restart
Outlook to install the update. I click OK and the dialogue box disappears,
but nothing else happens. I have tried turning off the send/receive that is
usually going on when I open Outlook, but that doesn't seem to help. At any
rate, I now get messages that I won't be able to download messages, etc.
until this update is completed. I have tried numerous times to do the update
to no avail. I have emailed MSN but have no response so far. I have also
tried to do the live chat thing which I have done before but this time I keep
getting chat unavailable even though it is during chat hours. I have tried
searching the FAQs but find nothing on this problem. I have tried the Office
update process but it says everything is up to date. I haven't found a
download for Outlook Connector on the web site to use instead. I'm
stymied..but I'm not a techie either to know what else to do. I'm pretty
sure that over the last few days I've tried both restarting and totally
turning off the PC as well.
I have not been able to receive my MSN mail or calendar updates since I
first tried to install the update. Thank goodness I have another email
client with which to download my messages, but I can't get my calendar
updates to upload so that my DH can see them on the road and I can't get his
updates to show on my Outlook calendar anymore.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
