Connector fails to open a hotmail account. Error message says service is only
open to subscribers. What does this mean, if the service is for free?

Pops,

I assume from your post that you are using either the Office Live Basic (free)
subscription or a free hotmail account. If so, the error message means
exactly what it says. You need to upgrade your currently free email account
subscription to a paid level in order to use the Outlook Connector to
download your web email into Outlook.

Also, this is a BCM newsgroup and eventhough I replied, your query would be
more appropriate in the general Outlook area rather than here.

A simpler and even more concise error message should have more clearly stated
that the service is only open to "PAID" subscribers vs. free subscribers.

Pops,

Never mind about my comments above that this is a BCM newsgroup. My mistake.
This IS the general MS Outlook newsgroup already and I am the one who is in
the wrong area. My apologies. You have obviously posted to the correct area.
