Outlook constantly loosing focus

The Outlook mail editor is constantly loosing the keyboard focus. I am
not sure, whether this is an Outlook or a Windows (XP) effect, but it is
definitely starting to drive me nuts!
Again and again I have to write parts of words or sentences again, since
somwhen while I was typing (sometimes even while I ws thinking and my
hands didn't even touch the keyboard) the mail editor has lost its input
focus AGAIN.

What could cause this and/or how can I find out, why this is happening?

its not outlook - it might be an outlook add-in causing it but its more
likely something in windows or another app - like search. Identifying the
culprit is usually just trial and error. I'd start with disabling any
outlook add-ins then making task manager visible on the screen with the
processes tab sorted for CPU activity so that as you are typing so you can
watch for processes to take control.

also, check the speech settings - If you have speech enabled and are talking
or have a radio on, it could hear the noise as commands.
