Outlook contact and calendar sync

I work for a telecommunications department of a large company. I am always
being asked if there is a way to sync a person's Outlook contacts and
calendar with a regular cell phone (not a smartphone, PDA or pocket PC).
Does anyone know of anything that can do such a thing or if MS plans to
create something like this in the future? Our cellular service is mostly
through Verizon Wireless

At this point, I would consider doing this with some middle of the road
phone but we cannot do it for everyone in the company with a cell phone
because of the cost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
