Outlook Contact File,,, Activities Tab,,,Emails can't be found

When I click on Activities in my Contact File all of my
email messages show up in the Journal file in the "In
Folder" listing rather than the Email file. When I try to
open these old emails from their Journal file they open
up as if they are a Journal entry and the old email
message can not be opened up this way. So I have no easy
way through my contact file to get to my old emails.

How do I correct this and thanks very much for your help!!

There are two possible explanations for this. One is that you don't have the
Sent Items folder included in the Activities group; you can check that on
the Properties dialog for the Contacts folder. The other is that you have
archived the Sent Items folder and, therefore, the original messages are no
longer available except in the archive file.
