Outlook Contacts And Address Book

R

Robert J. Marmion

I just had to change our server domain name. Our server
was upgraded from 2000 to 2003 and the domain name was
changed. This meant that all users got a new login,
which created a new Documents and setting entry on each
of their machines.
One user has email in their documents and setting folder,
and when the Outlook.pst was copied from the old to the
new, many of the setting became invalid. I fixed most of
them except for the address book.
The address book has - apparently - a reference to the
contacts folder in the "show names from" list, but the
current contacts folder is not found. All attempts to
add or remove folders have failed. How do I reset the
address book to really show the real folder?
-Thanks, Rob Marmion

Easiest solution is to remove the Outlook Address Book service, restart Outlook, then add it back in. The user can then double-check the properties of the Contacts folder to make sure that it's set for use in the address book.
