Outlook - Contacts backup

I have a zip drive and thought I was backing up my
outlook contacts .pab and .pst files for the past year.
Regretfully, my hard drive died and I found empty files
on my Zip. Now that I'm starting over, I'd like to know
how to back up my contacts lists and directories the
right way.

I am using XP Pro 2002 and Office 2003.

Close Outlook.
Copy the PST file to the desired location.
You were not likely using a PAB file. They have not been in use for several
years.
