Outlook Contacts & Email Address Books

Clearly I do not understand the relationship between Contacts folders and
what shows up when the To: button is pressed in the New Email window.

I have the following Contacts folders that I wish to choose from, with the
Shared Contacts as the default:

My Contacts
Contacts
Personal

Shared Contacts (from Public Folders\Favorites)

In the Select Names dialog opened when To: is pressed, the following are
currently listed in the Show Names From The: combo box:

Outlook Address Book
Contacts (this apparently corresponds to My Contacts\Contacts)

Global Address List (shows those who have a username on our network, I think)

All Address Lists
All B&F Employees (a distribution list)
All Contacts (no members exist)
All Groups
All Users
Public Folders (no members exist)

I only need access to the 3 folders initially listed. Can anyone tell me
how to blow out these others and add the three I need to the combo box?

You can't remove the others - they are administratively set.

To add the 3 missing, right click on each of these folders, select
Properties, Outlook Address Book and tick the box.

Our office is small, and I could have our administrator remove these. How
would he do so. I don't think he is aware that all these superfluous folders
are set up.

I can't remember - and I no longer have access to an Exchange system. Best
if you post your question in an Exchange group. Cheers.

If you have no access to the exchange the only thing you can do is choose
what shows up first.
Click tools and address book
then tools and options
this area will allow you to decide what you see and where you store you
addresses.
