How can I move a category of addresses from a folder under contacts in the folder list to the right side of the screen with all my other categories? I moved it from the right side to under the contact folder real easy but now I can’t get it back.

Could you be a bit more clear in your description? I can't follow this.
Include your Outlook version and the view to which you are referring when
you rephrase.

Thanks for replying. I am not the greatest but I will try.

There are three main windows or panels when MS outlook is open. Going from left to right-1. Outlook shortcuts-2. Folder list- and then all my contacts in 3. categories. I click the contacts folder in the Folders list that gives me the categories in the right panel or window. I right clicked on one of the categories and moved it under the contacts folder in the Folders List and then tried to get it back but was unable to.

I moved it by right clicking and then seliecting the 'Move to folder" option. Then choosing the options there which was the contacts folder

Is that a little more clear. I hope that helps because this is frustrating.

You didn't even specify your Outlook version or the view. I can't help.

I haven't used that version for over 2 years. As I recall it will be
somewhere in the vicinity of View > Current View > Customize Current View >
Reset Current View.

I'm still not clear on what you did. When you dragged a category of Contacts
List to Folder View, what did it do? Did it create a new Contacts Subfolder?

Here is what I did. I clicked “contact†folder in the “folders listâ€. That brought up the categories in the window to the right of “folders list†Then I went into one of the categories and right clicked it. That brought up a list of choices one of which was “move to folderâ€. I clicked that and it gave the choice of, among others, “contacts†under the “folders listâ€. When I clicked that it went under the “contacts’ folder and I can’t get it back to the original position. Hope that helps.

But what did it do? Did it create a new Contacts subfolder under your
default folder? If so, simply copy the contents of the subfolder back into
the main folder.

What went under the Contacts Folder?
You can't move a group of Contacts to the Folder List without their being in
a Folder.

thfolder and put it on the other side but that wont work. I tried to just
copy it in the default folder but that wont work either. Frustrating!

And this pertains to what? The newsgroup interface you are using apparently
does not quote earlier messages in the thread, making your latest message so
short on detail that you risk not getting the answer you're looking for.
Please take the time to quote the original message.

You claim that you have 60 Contacts listed individually within Outlook's
Folder List?
I do not believe that is possible. I certainly cannot reproduce it.
