"Outlook could not create work file. Check temp environment variab

C:\echo %temp%
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

C:\echo %tmp%
C:\WINDOWS\TMP

I have had ths problem for the longest time. The crazy thing is that when I
have my portable hard drive plugged in, I do not have any problems. When I
don't have the drive plugged in, that is when I start getting the "Outlook
could not create work file. Check temp environment variable." error.

Any advice?
