My Windows XP downloads updates automatically for installation.

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but I'm noticing after a recent
update, that I'm having problems in Outlook (XP). Now, when I look up a
Contact in my address book, I get "Outlook could not find the requested
contact. You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation."

Also, it seems like I'm having a problem opening email attachments.

I've tried re-booting and that doesn't help. I also re-installed Outlook. I
can't find an answer in the Knowlegebase and am at a loss as to how to
proceed from here.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have Outlook XP, SP3 with Windows XP, Windows XP (Media Edition, SP2).

The first article didn't resolve the issue. The message I'm getting also
says "You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation."

Thanks.

Do not multipost.
The first article will in fact most likely resolve your issue. It just
wasn't the correct article for your version since you failed to post your
version.
Do what it suggests and post back. If you can't extrapolate the instructions
for your version, read the article for your version:
