Outlook could not open custom form

Anthony Smith

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm blessed.

I'm still having a problem with this "Outlook could not open custom form,
default form will be open, check with administrator."

I got a hot fix from Microsoft support months ago and that stop the problem
for maybe a few weeks and then it started again. I go into manage forms and
clear the cache but that only helps for a few days or so, if that.

Is there still any fix to this problem. I have people trying to do a new
task in their own mail box and it's telling them it couldn't open form and
it's just the default personal task form.

I'm running Exchange 2000, with workstations running Outlook 2003 and
Outlook 2002. I'm noticing the problem on both XP and 2003 workstations.
Please advise!

Thanks!

No, there is no fix for this problem yet, other than periodically clearing
the cache.

Hi Sue,

I met you at the TechEd conference, (I'm sure you met a lot of other people
too, smile)

I'm assuming the problem is with Exchange 2000, correct?
Will upgrading to Exchange 2003 solve the problem?

Thanks for the help!

Anthony....

No. It has nothing to do with the Exchange version.

I had a user experience this symptom. I told her to use the "Clear Cache" button and she reported that the button was not there! I didn't believe her but went to her desktop and found that she was telling the truth.

Does anybody know what might make that button disappear? She needs to be able to see these custom forms... Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bob
