Outlook crashed yesterday

Outlook 2007 crashed yesterday during a thunder storm (not sure if that's
relevant). Everytime I launched, it wants to go in safe mode. It reports that
Outlook has stopped working and Windows will close the program... I tried a
repair first then uninstalled and subsequent reinstalled. It just refuses to
launch and I'm still at the same spot. The diagnostic tool points me to the
Windows Update which reports all updates are up-to-date! I really like Office
2007 but it is so frustrating working in Vista as opposed to XP. Please
