I now have a problem with 2 machines - 1 x pc + 1 x Laptop... both running
Windows XP and Office 2007 Pro.
When I open Outlook normally I get a message saying that Outlook has
encountered a problem and needs to close. If I leave a box ticked to restart
Outlook I then get another message asking if i want to open it in Safe
Mode... doing so will open it ok...and at least i can work on emails etc.
I have tried various things
1. I've run the resetnavpane command - which allows Outlook to open
properly, but then as soon as I click to create a new email message it
crashes as before..
2. I've scanned pst files... and also, as we're now using Exchange - run
scanost.exe... both were coming back as clean scans. We also created a new
file which has made no difference.
3. I've disabled all the add ins and then added them back in.
4. In desperation I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Office.
It was bad enough when it was just one of our pc's that had the issue, now a
client who depends on his Laptop if suffering the same problem.. and its
obviously something wrong within Outlook that is causing this - please help !
