Outlook crashes and shuts computer off

When receiving emails at times outlook will give a default beep and shuts off
completely. I am using XP home and outlook 2003. I have tried repair, it
doesn't appear to help. I have multiple email addresses and it happens on
various ones, not the same one. I have also tried system restore. Virus
scan comes up clean.

It's shuts down your computer? What is being logged to the Event Viewer?
Check both the Application and System log for errors. Since I suspect this
is a combined issue (Outlook is not the culprit but the culprit shows
through Outlook) check for any error. Driver or even hardware error is a
possibility here.

There is no error message in application or system logs. What driver would
have the trouble. It happens when I have outlook 2003 open and it checks for
messages. It has sometimes happened when I open it but yesterday and today
it happens when it checks for email while the program is open.
