Outlook crashes

My environment:
Windows XP Home,
Microsoft Office Professional 2003

I did Windows Update. After this, when I started Outlook 2003, it reported:
"Business Contact Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
and offered restarting "Business Contact Manager". I hit "Don's Send" that
restated Outlook. It came back to ask me if I want to restart Outlook in
safe mode. I said yes, the crash message appeared again:
"Business Contact Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close..."

Basically, I cannot start Outlook.

I restored to the last save point before I did Windows Update. But, the
problem persists.

I uninstalled Office 2003. Re-installed it. Restarted the computer
numerous times, but to no avail.

My other Office applications such as Word, Powerpoint, etc. They work fine.

Does anybody have a solution to fix this problem?

Are you using Cloudmark by chance? If so, upgrade to the latest version since
there was a bad update issued. The fix is to upgrade to the latest version
which is 5.2 or something close to that version number.

K. Orland,

I don't know what Cloudmark is. I used Control Panel to check what I have
installed on my computer. I did not see Cloudmark there.

In the last Windows update, I selected some optional updates:
- .NETFramework 3.0
- something related to MSXML
- something else I cannot remember

May be these optional updates have screwed up my computer.

Is there anyway to backout Windows updates from the Microsoft update history
list?

Any help will be appreciated. I hate to clean my disk and reload everything
again - if I can avoid this.
