Please forgive me if this has been asked before, but I've only just joined
the newsgroup and can't see anything on this topic. I'm running Outlook 2003
on Vista Home Premium and am trying to set Windows Mail as the default
newsreader. I have Windows Mail set as default newsreader, and enabled in
the Default Programs. When I try to call it from Outlook using the News
button, Windows Explorer opens for me to select the program to use. Picking
out Windows Mail .exe file from program files starts it up OK, but I can't
make the setting stick - every time I hit the News button I have to select
the program again. How do I make the setting stick?
Assuming there is a way to do this, is it possible to call Windows Mail to
open in news only mode - there used to be a /newsonly command line parameter
in Outlook Express, but it doesn't seem to work with Mail.
