Outlook defective closing

Click close, screen closes and B&W Outlook icon appears and one cannot
re-open Outlook. Go to Task Manager and find Outlook still there. Go to
Send/Receive Details and find "0 of 311 Tasks Completed Successfully." and
unable to send or receive while insanity continues until Outlook closed via
task Manager.

Sounds like and issue with sending/receiving preventing from Outlook to
close completely, possibly caused by your virus scanner integrating itself
