outlook deletes message at preview

outlook 2K premium. With preview pane on, outlook deletes currently selected
mail item....disappears....does not move to deleted items....when
highlighted, it will preview, but as soon as another item is selected, poof!
HELP!!

Click View>Current View and select "Messages" instead of "Unread Messages".
