Re: Outlook menu item TOOLS/OPTIONS/PREFERENCES/JOURNAL OPTIONS/"Also record
files from:" field.

I need Outlook Journal to track all activity in FRONTPAGE 2003 for myself
and for my team. This provides an OBVIOUS and CRITICAL timeline that can be
applied to many aspects of team management including costing and workflow
management. For example, how can I import FrontPage design team journal
timelines if Outlook isn't creating the timelines in the first place?

How can FrontPage design be tracked in my Outlook Journal as a timeline?
How can FRONTPAGE 2003 be added to the "Also record files from:" box?
Another wing of my organization found an idetical problem with VISIO. We
wasted money on Microsoft Project only to find it was just as disabled as
Outlook, a more "central" office application. The VISIO department trashed
Microsoft and moved to back to Mac (my black eye). But I am fighting to keep
the FrontPage web design department alive. So we are waiting for an Outlook
resolution [in a disorganized array].

Three (3) questions come to mind.

1) Can Oulook display the "Entry Type:" journal bar for Tasks? If so, can
the task entries include information on the files FrontPage edits?

2) Can the XP registry be edited to include FrontPage in the list of
applications diplayed in the "Also record files from:" field?

3) Where is the work around for this archaic, crippling 286 fossil in the
Outlook options for Journal?

Provide work arounds on page this note refers to (link is above).
Vague reference to Microsoft Project are not good enough.
This functionality must be forced in Outlook's Journal.

In future versions:
Outlook Journal Preferences tab includes a standard Microsoft "Add program
to record files from:" field. The programs can be selected and added to or
removed from a list of compatible Microsoft Office applications. So, one
wonders...
