Outlook does not pick-up or send email through Earthlink.

I have used Outlook 2003 with Earthlink Mail successfuly for several years.
Suddenly it would not 'pick up' my e-mails. I had to go into Web-mail myself
to retrieve them. Now, Outlook is telling me "Error 0x80042109- Unable to
connect to my SMTP e-mail server". Earthlink is configured for it to be both
POP3 and SMTP. Anyone know how to fix this?
