Outlook does not use selected default account to send mail

I am using MS Outlook 2003. I have more that one e-mail address account and
use one as default. When I reply to mail, all is goes well, however, when I
compose a new e-mail and send it to one of my contacts, in the sent item
folder it shows that the e-mail was not sent from the default account. When
this happens the e-mail often does not get delivered.

To prevent this I tried to select the default account before composing the
new e-mail. Sometime it works and other times it does not. For one particular
contact never works.

In an attempt to verify the mail gets delivered, I Bcc my address. In some
cases although the sent item folder shows the wrong address account, the mail
that I receive has the correct default address account used.

To avoid this, when e-mailing to that particular contact I start the e-mail
by replying to one of the old, to force the use of the account. In this case
it uses the account that the mail was received on and delivers without
problem. Unfortunately the use of reply is not always possible.

This is annoying simply because the uncertainty of mail being received by
the intended contact.

I realize that I could solve it by setting one e-mail account per profile
but, I wish that it could be done with the present set-up.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Thank you

Gabriel
