outlook does not use sun's jre instead of msjvm

Hello,

I have a problem concerning Outlook 2000 on a Windows 2000 OS.

An Outlook-Folder is associated to a Folder-Homepage (an Intranet-Site)
which contains an Java-Applet.

When Outlook tries to run the Applet, an error occurs ("...could not be
inited")

On the same computer the applet runs fine with Internet Explorer.

All I found out is that IE uses the installed Sun JRE 1.5.0. But Outlook
uses MSJVM.

How can I tell Outlook to use Sun's JRE?

I have already checked all security options that could prevent running
an applet.

I tried the same configuration on WinXP (Outlook 2000, JRE 1.5.0). In
this situation, Outlook automaticly uses Sun's JRE and the applet works
fine.

Thanks for help

Nobody could help me, but after a long search I found a solution myself.
Maybe somebody finds this messege with google or so.

Here is the answer:

The problem can be solved by editing the Windows 2000 Registry.

There is a key that tells outlook to use msjvm.
Search for "msjava.dll" in the registry. You get a couple of positions
within the registry where this dll is used.

You have to change this to another dll provided by sun's jre.
I forgot the name of sun's dll. If you need it, just write me an email.

After changing the registry, outlook works fine with applets.
