Outlook does not work after today's updates - ExSec32.dll

I am running XP with Office 2003 and Office 2007 Beta 2. Since doing the
last update neither version of Outlook will work. In Outlook 2003 it says
MAPI32.DLL is corrupt and in 2007 gives corrupt OLMAPI32.DLL. I have
reinstalled Office 2003 and no change. Both versions of Outlook are useless.
For your info I also run IE 7 and have Mozilla Firefox loaded.

I don't think the two versions of Office will co-exist very well

This happens with Outlook B2 and B2TR when a Outlook 2003 is also installed.
I had the same problem. The fix (for XP) is to go into the Control Panel,
select Add/Remove Programs. From the list click on "Microsoft Office
Professional Plus 2007 (Beta)" and click on the "Change" button. (There are
no buttons for the "Beta Two Technical Refresh..." item underneath.) Click on
the "Repair" radio button and then click Continue. Now wait for the installer
to do its stuff! Your Outlook beta will now work again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went through the process, but still doesn't
work, giving the same error messages.

Sorry to hear that :-( FWIW, I too have Firefox and IE7, and happily (for
me)the "repair" worked and I know it has worked for others. Although I have
to say I haven't used OL03 for a while, perhaps it's something to do with
that that?

One more option is to use the Office Diagnostics (on the Help menu in B2TR),
which will run through a series of reports. See if you get any complaints,
aside from the one about the two versions of Outlook.

Finally, there was another fix I used successfully before I discovered the
"Repair" fix. That is to use XP's "System Restore" to put the computer back
into the state it was in immediately before you applied the XP Updates which
caused the problems. To investigate this, choose Help and Support from the
Start Menu and then type in "system restore wizard". This should show the
wizard in the tasks on the left-hand side. Good luck!
