Outlook doesn't send and receive after computer wake up from sleep

When my computer has been to sleep and woken up with Outlook running it
doesn't recive new emails. It says it is sending and receiving but actually
doesn't. This is for an IMAP email account.

Usually when I restart Outlook it starts to work again, but not always.

Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it?
