Outlook Domino Comnnector - Unusual Problem

This is a peculiar problem. Any help?

Outlook will not allow me to save the domino password ("the password cannot
be saved, contact your system administrator"). this happens when the
connector is loaded the first time. so I de-click the save password.
Outlook downloads all the mail, calender... from the lotus server. I then
shut down Outlook.

Now when I restart outlook, it wont accept the password (wrong password).
teh only way to work again is to delete the two files domino caonnecter made
- extend.dat and outlook.nst. then the entire cycle of the first paragraph
is repeated.

any help on what is happening. i have already "repaired" outlook and
"reinstalled" domino connector. the behaviour is the same.
