Outlook Down Loads Same Messages Oover and Over

When my inbox gets above 1000 e-mails outlook keeps downloading the first few hundered over and over and never finishes downloading all the e-mails. Are there any fixes for this bug. I do not have "leave a copy on the server" checked for any of my accounts.
