OUTLOOK duplicate calendar events

So, after tooling around these fora, it looks like a lot of people are seeing duplicate calendar events in ENTOURAGE. Well, I use Entourage, but my secretary uses Outlook on a PC so that she can add things to my calendar. Suddenly this morning, almost all of my calendar events IN OUTLOOK had 6-14 duplicates. They still only show up as a single occurrence in Entourage, both in the "normal" calendar view and the "all calendar" list. When I looked in Outlook Web Access myself, I also see duplicates. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a repeating event or a non-repeating event; it doesn't matter whether a category is assigned or not.

In addition, ONE of these duplicates in Outlook corresponds to the one single time it occurs in Entourage. And it's not the same one: sometimes it's the first of the duplicates, sometimes it's the middle, sometimes the one at the end. So I can't just delete the duplicates in Outlook because I can't know which one to keep without deleting it in Entourage. It's crazy.

So, Outlook and Outlook Web Access see 6-14 duplicates of calendar items entered before yesterday. Entourage only sees single events. And I don't know how to get rid of duplicates in Outlook since deleting the wrong one then deletes the single event in Entourage, and then doesn't re-sync with the one that's left in Outlook.

Thoughts, anyone?

Well, this is actually becoming more problematic now. I still only have one entry in Entourage for things, but I'm starting to run into troubles in Outlook and Outlook Web Access - instead of 8-14 entries, I now have hundreds of entries for every entry in Entourage. In another month, I estimate I'll overload the Exchange Server at work.

Help!

So, Outlook and Outlook Web Access see 6-14 duplicates of calendar
items entered before yesterday. Entourage only sees single events.
And I don't know how to get rid of duplicates in Outlook since
deleting the wrong one then deletes the single event in Entourage,
and then doesn't re-sync with the one that's left in Outlook.

First, if OWA is showing duplicates but Entourage is not showing
duplicates then Entourage is not working correctly.

If you see this in just one or a handful of folders then right-click or
Control-click that folder or Calendar, select Folder Properties and
click the Empty button to empty the cache. You can also select the
account itself and empty the cache for all of your folders.

Now, this will probably download multiple events into Entourage. Locate
the script for removing duplicate calendar entries on this page and get
rid of the extras. <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/duplicates.html>

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, no dice. All we succeeded in doing was to lose all of my category information (obviously, since I emptied the cache). But still only one event showing in Entourage while more than 50 duplicates showing in Outlook and Outlook Web Access.

Any way I can check the Exchange database directly to see if it is a problem with Outlook or OWA?

I'd suggest taking that to your Exchange administrator. He's the only
one who can look at the account directly and may have tools to take care
of situations like this.
