Email recipients report that attached files show up as corrupt and cannot be
read. The attachments are Excel 2007 files, sent with Outlook from MS Office
2007 Pro. The same file I send can be opened and read then closed and opened
repeatedly here by me. I sent it to a different recipient, who reported the
same problem.
I don't know if this second issue is related, but here goes. When I receive
an attachment, and then click on it to be opened, it initiates the proper
program, e.g Word, Excel, etc., but then reports it can't find the file.
Then after I close the error message and re-click on the attachment, it opens
properly. However, when I close the attachment, the system says the file has
changed and asks if I want to save the changes.
My OS is XP Home with SP2. I have all the updates reported as needed by MS
live update
I have run several anti-virus softwares and anti-spywares, and I have run 2
different system registry "fixers." Who can point me to the next step in my
quest for answers and enlightenment?
Thanks,
