Yes, your are correct. I personally don't ever bother with it, but I've
known a couple of other people that do and they called it 'red flagging'. If
the OP really meant the 'flag shape', then no joy for him! The coloured
'flag shape' seems to be available for received messages only, opened in a
new window. Not really very useful...eh?

It gets a red exclamation mark but no flag. It never has.

After furious head scratching, F. Edwin Felty asked:
| When you select 'New Email' in OL2003, click
| File>Properties>Importance and you will see a pulldown on the left
| side with the options...Low, Medium and High. The default is Medium,
| which gets no flag. If you change the Importance Level to 'high', it
| will be received with a Red Flag. I never used ' low', so I don't
| know what it does...

||||| I'm running Outlook 2003 and trying to figure out how to change
||||| the color of the flag BEFORE you send the email! Let me clarify,
||||| when you open Outlook, open and new, blank email, click on the
||||| little red flag on the toolbar, there is a grayed out drop-down
||||| box called "Flag Color." I have not been able to find anywhere
||||| on the net on how you exactly "un-gray" this box so you can

||||| visible but not available. Can anyone provide any guidance on
||||| this matter pls?
